Town centre or Testo Alto: where to stay and how to spend three days in Pomerode
Compare the centre and Testo Alto for three days in Pomerode: museums, Rota do Enxaimel, the zoo and meals, with tickets chosen by interest.

GETTING STARTED
For this sequence, we suggest staying in the centre, devoting a day to Testo Alto and choosing tickets by interest. These are three full sightseeing days, excluding arrival and departure, including museums, half-timbered houses, the zoo and meals at specified addresses.
Who it is for: First-time Pomerode visitors wanting to combine heritage, food and the zoo while comparing the complete cost of accommodation, transport and admission. For this itinerary, the centre is the most practical base
For a first visit, I suggest staying in the centre and setting aside one day for Testo Alto. Two of the three days combine museums, food stops and the zoo in the urban area; Casa do Imigrante requires a separate trip to Pomerode Fundos. This arrangement helps you choose accommodation to suit the visits you will actually make.
In the centre, look for accommodation conveniently placed for Hermann Weege, XV de Novembro and Luiz Abry streets, which feature in the visits below. The tourism directory includes hotels, guesthouses, chalets and apartments: compare the exact address and conditions of your stay, because the type of accommodation alone tells you neither how much you will spend nor how far you will need to travel.
Testo Alto makes sense if rural scenery is also an important part of your stay and you have arranged transport for the days in town. There is no evidence that nightly rates are lower there. Before deciding, add up accommodation, journeys and planned meals for both bases.
This selection covers three full days in Pomerode, excluding arrival and departure. You can include it in a longer Vale Europeu trip, but it does not cover the entire region.
Arrange the days before finalising your bookings
If flying, consider the cost of the flight and transfer together. Associação Visite Pomerode identifies Navegantes as the nearest airport, approximately 75 km away, and describes access from the coast via BR-101, BR-470 and SC-421. If arriving by bus, the coach station is in the centre; confirm the connections available from your starting point before booking.
The days below form a suggested sequence and can be rearranged. To combine Casa Siewert, lunch at Rancho Lemke and Tour Nugali, try to schedule Testo Alto between Wednesday and Sunday, the restaurant’s published lunch days. If you want to replace the chocolate visit with Casa Radünz in the afternoon, Thursday, Friday or Saturday fit the listed opening times better.
If your trip includes a Monday, consider making it the zoo day: its website lists daily opening. Museu Pomerano lists visits from Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays. Settling the order before booking accommodation avoids arriving to find that your preferred combination does not fit the calendar.
A morning between Portal Sul, museum carts and pastries
Begin at Portal Sul, with its half-timbered construction, and follow Rua XV de Novembro–Rua Paulo Zimmermann towards Museu Pomerano. This opening connects the city’s architecture with what you will see in the museum, without starting the day by moving between different areas.
At Rua Hermann Weege, 111, Museu Pomerano displays carts, furniture, musical instruments and agricultural tools drawn from Egon Tiedt’s collection. Go inside to learn about objects and ways of life associated with immigration: this visit gives context to Casa do Imigrante and the houses of Testo Alto.
Ibram’s listing states that admission is free, while the tourism association’s page still lists a charge. Confirm this discrepancy with the museum. Ibram lists opening from Tuesday to Friday, 10:00–11:30 and 13:00–17:00, and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, 10:00–16:00. On weekdays, arrive with enough time to enjoy the visit before the lunch closure.
For food, we suggest Torten Paradies, Rua XV de Novembro, 350, before heading to Pomerode Fundos. Its own page lists a lunch buffet, pastries and café colonial. Cucas and apfelstrudel appear on the establishment’s published menu, subject to the day’s availability. Choose lunch or a coffee break according to your appetite; you need not make both compulsory stops.

After lunch, continue to Casa do Imigrante Carl Weege in Pomerode Fundos. The reconstructed half-timbered building, antique furniture, waterwheel and shed with traditional milling equipment—a moenda and an atafona—build on what you began exploring at Museu Pomerano. We suggest devoting the afternoon to this complex, without adding the rural route as well.
The sources give different addresses: the specific page lists Rua Leopoldo Blaese, 11, while the museum directory uses Rua Vidal Ferreira, 1032. Search by the venue’s name and confirm access on the published telephone number, (47) 3387-2613. Use that contact to check visiting arrangements and admission too.
If you prefer to reduce this journey, replace Casa do Imigrante with Museu do Automóvel, Rua Hermann Weege, 544, devoted to classic vehicles. Another cultural option is Memorial Arthur Schmidt, Rua Luiz Abry, 849, with objects, photographs and catalogues relating to porcelain production. Choose the subject that interests you and check opening times; you do not need to visit both.

On the day for Testo Alto, begin at Portal Norte near the entrance to Rua Testo Alto. The tourism association lists visitor guidance and a map on site. Use this stop to locate the visits: Rota do Enxaimel is about 16 km long, and places appearing close on a map do not make the entire route a walk.
Continue to Casa Siewert, Rua Testo Alto, 8019. Built in 1913, it offers a guided visit covering family history and half-timbered construction. Go inside to discover more than the façade and understand how the house was built through the guide’s explanation.
The route association lists visits from Monday to Friday, 09:00–11:30 and 13:00–16:30; Saturdays, 09:00–17:00; and Sundays at 09:00, 10:00 and 11:00. The morning is therefore the best time for this suggested visit, especially on Sunday.
Arrange transport for the whole day, including the return journey. The source lists a car, guided tour and bicycle as options, but your choice depends on the route and how much cycling you want to do. Many houses along the route remain private homes: admire their façades from permitted spaces and enter only places that welcome visitors.

Stop at Portal Norte to get your bearings before continuing through the Testo Alto area.

After Casa Siewert, we suggest lunch at Rancho Lemke, Rua Testo Alto, 4895. The restaurant occupies a preserved historic barn and serves German cuisine. The stop suits the day’s theme and avoids returning to the centre just to eat.
The association lists lunch from Wednesday to Sunday, with à la carte service from Wednesday to Friday and a buffet at weekends. Check the service for your date through the restaurant’s own channel before setting out. If your days in Pomerode do not include this part of the week, do not rely on this lunch stop when planning the route.
For the afternoon, Tour Nugali is on the same road, at Rua Testo Alto, 4848. The tour covers stages of chocolate production, a greenhouse with cocoa and vanilla, and a tasting. The association lists daily opening from 09:00 to 18:00; check visiting conditions and treat this experience as an optional expense, without assuming the machines will be operating during your visit.
Would you prefer to continue exploring houses and period objects? Replace Tour Nugali with Casa Radünz, built in 1932, at Rua Curitiba, 377. The visit includes indoor and outdoor areas, period furniture, a lake and a waterwheel. It closes on Wednesdays; on Sunday it opens only from 10:00 to 12:00, and on the other published days from 10:00 to 17:00. On Sunday, schedule Radünz in the morning and choose between it and Siewert to avoid rushing between visits.
Allow plenty of time for the zoo on day three
Set aside the morning of day three for Zoo Pomerode, Rua Hermann Weege, 180. Its official website lists daily opening from 08:00 to 18:00 and provides access to ticket sales. Education, conservation and sustainability are among the activities described by the zoo.
The morning is a suggested time to visit, rather than a fixed duration. Allow room to stay longer if you are enjoying it, especially before buying a ticket for another attraction in the afternoon.
Stay in the centre for lunch. Torten Paradies is an option with a documented buffet if you chose only pastries on day one. Afterwards, Museu do Automóvel at Rua Hermann Weege, 544, lets you remain in the urban area and add classic vehicles to the itinerary, provided the subject interests you and admission fits your budget.
To keep costs down, finish with a coffee break and a walk along Rua XV de Novembro, without buying another ticket. If rain changes your priorities for the day, consider Museu do Automóvel or Memorial Arthur Schmidt after checking their opening, and try to move the zoo to another day. Changing plans need not mean buying tickets for both activities.

The zoo’s Rua Hermann Weege address keeps day three central.

The clearest savings in this itinerary come from grouping visits by area and choosing the admissions that really interest you. Two days focus on the centre; Testo Alto has a day of its own, with lunch along the route. Casa do Imigrante is a separate trip that you can replace with a museum in the centre.
In Viajandar’s Calculadora de Viagem, enter the destination, number of days and people, and travel style to obtain an estimate in reais for accommodation, food and transport, with a 15% margin. Include arrival and departure in the total duration used to plan expenses.
The results use reference figures: they are an illustrative estimate rather than a quotation. Compare the options for your base and transport, and separately record the prices you find for your date. Add your chosen admission tickets too, without assuming they are included in the calculation.
- Compare bases using the same nights, people and outings. Transport can erase a room-rate difference.
- Choose in advance between Tour Nugali and Casa Radünz for the rural afternoon; do not add both simply because they appear in the itinerary.
- Treat Museu do Automóvel as a choice based on interest, especially if the zoo is already your main expense for the day.
- Do not assume Casa do Imigrante, Testo Alto houses or other museums are free; evidence does not confirm that.
Travelling in October 2026? Check these programme options
If your trip is in October 2026, the events calendar consulted on 15/10/2026 confirms two programmes. Maratona Internacional de Pomerode takes place on 17 and 18 October 2026 at Parque Municipal de Eventos, with cultural and food activities including traditional bands and folk groups. It may appeal even if you are interested mainly in the cultural side of the event; check times and access conditions.
On 24 October 2026, Festival de Microcervejarias brings together six local breweries, music and food at Parque Municipal de Eventos. We suggest considering it as a chance to meet the city’s producers and adjusting the afternoon in the centre to the published schedule, rather than crowding a museum and event into the same time.
These dates offer possibilities for anyone travelling during that period. For other dates, consult the official calendar and use the sightseeing itinerary as your starting point.
Turn choices into a trip ready to go
Once the days are organised, use Mala Inteligente to turn the trip into a checklist: enter the total duration, including travel, the expected climate and the traveller profiles. Review the items for walks in the centre, the rural day and any possibility of rain in the forecast.
For further research, Viajandar’s Pomerode page brings together information about the municipality and links to explore accommodation, food and local services. Use the listings to find options, then confirm current conditions directly with each establishment.
The hours and services in this article come from checks on 15/10/2026. Recheck your chosen places shortly before your trip. The photographs are archive images: they help you recognise the sights, but do not establish the current conditions of the sites.
Which option suits you?
| Option | A good fit if… | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Accommodation in the centre | For those following this itinerary, with two urban sightseeing days and one concentrated Rota do Enxaimel outing. | Favours museums, food and the zoo, but transport to Testo Alto and Casa do Imigrante still needs arranging. Check the address rather than just the neighbourhood label. |
| Accommodation in Testo Alto | For those prioritising rural scenery and enjoying Testo Alto beyond the visits. | Both central-attraction days require journeys from the rural base. No lower room rates are established: compare accommodation and transport together. |
| Casa Siewert and Tour Nugali | For those wanting architecture, family history and chocolate production in one day. | These are different experiences and separate budget items. Lunch at Rancho Lemke avoids returning to the centre between them. |
| Casa Siewert and Casa Radünz | You want to explore the historic houses in more depth. | Casa Radünz replaces Tour Nugali. It closes on Wednesdays and opens only in the morning on Sundays, so you will need to rearrange the day. |
| Zoo with a flexible afternoon in the centre | For those prioritising the zoo while controlling total admissions. | Treat Museu do Automóvel as an optional addition according to your interests and budget. You do not need tickets for both visits to complete the day. |
Your itinerary, ready to save
Day 1 — morning
Begin at Portal Sul and follow XV de Novembro and Paulo Zimmermann streets to Museu Pomerano, Rua Hermann Weege, 111. Its carts, furniture and tools give context to historic houses on later outings.
Prefer an alternative? If Museu Pomerano is closed on your date, keep Portal Sul and consider Memorial Arthur Schmidt, Rua Luiz Abry, 849, after checking visits.Day 1 — lunch and afternoon
We suggest lunch at Torten Paradies, Rua XV de Novembro, 350. Then make a separate trip to Casa do Imigrante Carl Weege in Pomerode Fundos, after confirming access and visiting arrangements through the venue’s contact.
Prefer an alternative? To remain central, replace Casa do Imigrante with Museu do Automóvel, Rua Hermann Weege, 544. Leave day three’s afternoon free of that visit.Day 2 — morning
Stop at Portal Norte to get your bearings, then continue to Casa Siewert, Rua Testo Alto, 8019. The guided visit covers family history and half-timbered construction; on Sundays, choose one of the published morning times.
Prefer an alternative? To visit Casa Radünz instead of Siewert, organise the morning around Rua Curitiba, 377, respecting Wednesday closure and Sunday’s short window.Day 2 — lunch and afternoon
On a day when lunch service is confirmed, stop at Rancho Lemke, Rua Testo Alto, 4895, then continue to Tour Nugali at number 4848 on the same street. This combines your meal with the tour of chocolate production, without returning to the centre in the middle of the outing.
Prefer an alternative? Replace Tour Nugali with Casa Radünz if architecture and period furniture are your priority. According to the published hours, this afternoon alternative is unavailable on Sunday and Wednesday.Day 3 — morning
Set aside the morning for Zoo Pomerode, Rua Hermann Weege, 180. Check the official sales channel before buying, and stay flexible so you can extend the visit without rushing to another attraction with a tightly scheduled ticket.
Prefer an alternative? If rain prompts a change of plan, consider Museu do Automóvel and Memorial Arthur Schmidt according to their opening times, your interests and the cost. You can move the zoo to another day of your stay.Day 3 — lunch and afternoon
Have lunch in the centre; Torten Paradies is a documented buffet option, with service for your date to confirm. Afterwards, visit Museu do Automóvel if seeing classic vehicles makes the expense worthwhile for you and you did not already include it on day one.
Prefer an alternative? To avoid paying for another attraction, stop for pastries at Torten Paradies, then continue your walk along Rua XV de Novembro and around the outside of Centro Cultural. Before you go
- Choose your base by its address and the total cost: accommodation, transport to Pomerode, local journeys and any parking expenses.
- Count arrival and departure separately from the three sightseeing days and adjust the number of nights to your transport arrangements.
- If flying, compare flight plus transfer. The tourism association identifies Navegantes as nearest airport, approximately 75 km away.
- Confirm Museu Pomerano opening and admission: Ibram states free entry but the tourism page differs.
- Confirm Casa do Imigrante’s access, hours and admission on the published telephone number, (47) 3387-2613; the sources give different addresses.
- Schedule the route day around the houses’ opening hours and lunch at Rancho Lemke, listed from Wednesday to Sunday.
- Arrange both the outward and return journeys for Testo Alto before setting out. The approximately 16 km route should not be treated as a single walk.
- Check current visiting and ticket conditions through the channels of your chosen attractions, without automatically adding Zoo Pomerode, Tour Nugali and every museum.
- For trips in October 2026, check the official programmes for Maratona Internacional de Pomerode on 17–18/10 and Festival de Microcervejarias on 24/10.
- Use your trip forecast for packing and add chosen tickets to estimated spending.
Questions to help you decide
Which base makes most sense for a first visit?
For this sequence we suggest the centre: it concentrates two urban days and allows one main outing to Testo Alto. The most economical choice depends on accommodation plus transport, not room rate alone.
Do I need a car?
You can organise the trip without driving, but arrange transport for Rota do Enxaimel and Casa do Imigrante before booking accommodation. The tourism association mentions guided tours of the route; the evidence does not confirm bus routes, service frequencies or on-demand transport availability for each leg.
Is Museu Pomerano free?
Ibram’s listing states free entry, while the tourism association’s page still lists a charge. Confirm directly with the museum and do not treat an older figure as a current price.
Can I visit more historic houses instead of taking the chocolate tour?
Yes. We suggest visiting Casa Siewert in the morning and Casa Radünz in the afternoon on a day when they are open. Radünz closes on Wednesdays and opens on Sundays only from 10:00 to 12:00, so this sequence needs to change on Sunday.
How can I include Monday in the three-day itinerary?
The zoo’s official website lists daily opening. The route day needs more attention: Rancho Lemke lists lunch from Wednesday to Sunday, and the houses have their own hours. If your stay includes a Monday, it is a good option for the zoo; organise the other days around opening times.
Do the three days include arrival and departure?
This itinerary covers three full sightseeing days in the municipality, with arrival and departure counted separately. It combines the selected experiences, without covering a complete trip through Vale Europeu or setting a required length of stay in Pomerode.
