GETTING STARTED

Stay centrally for walks and Christmas activities, spend Saturday at Pedras do Silêncio and Casa Sander, then choose Ninho das Águias scenery or Experiência Edelbrau on Sunday. These are three full Nova Petrópolis days with arrival and departure separate and clear choices to control spending.

Who it is for: Couples, families and travellers wanting three full days in Nova Petrópolis, choosing paid experiences carefully and enjoying Magia do Natal 2026.

Three days with time to explore and choose where to spend

Combine gardens, history and countryside flavours over three days without constantly getting in and out of cars. We suggest staying centrally and dividing visits as follows: Friday between Praça das Flores and Aldeia do Imigrante; Saturday at Pedras do Silêncio and Casa Sander; Sunday with Colina Verde lunch and Ninho das Águias in the afternoon.

These are three full days in the municipality, excluding arrival and departure. The itinerary focuses on Nova Petrópolis as part of what may be a longer trip; it does not cover the whole Serra Gaúcha region. A Friday-to-Sunday stay fits Casa Sander’s visiting days and the activities announced for Magia do Natal, which runs from 6 November 2026 to 3 January 2027.

For budgeting, begin with choices changing total cost: accommodation address, rural transport and number of paid experiences. Labirinto Verde and announced Magia do Natal attractions have confirmed free access; they balance the itinerary without promising a cheap trip overall.

Where to stay: the centre helps this itinerary work

Our first area choice is the centre, using Praça das Flores as a reference. The square is on Avenida 15 de Novembro, also home to Plátano Grill and Aldeia do Imigrante. Rua Coberta and the square host Christmas programming. A well-positioned base lets you walk between these outings according to your chosen address.

Before booking, check the real distance between accommodation and these points. Compare total room rates with three days’ transport, including evenings out. A cheaper distant room may lose its advantage after each return journey; a higher central rate also needs to fit the budget.

Vila Olinda may suit those who prefer the area and will have transport, but being in Colina Verde’s neighbourhood does not solve the rest of the itinerary. Choose a rural base if time there matters to the trip. For Christmas and central walking, include return journeys in comparisons before booking.

Friday morning: gardens, maze and lunch along one route

Begin Friday morning at Praça das Flores, officially Praça da República. Walk the gardens and notice monuments to Cooperativism, Immigration and the Bible. It introduces the city before the afternoon’s historical visit, with time for flowerbeds and breaks rather than rushing elsewhere.

Labirinto Verde is here too, formed from cypresses. Follow hedge corridors to the central platform. Access is free, and the municipal listing gives daily 07:00–20:00 opening. Combine both on the same walk without transport between them.

For lunch, we suggest Plátano Grill in Galeria Imigrante, Avenida Quinze de Novembro, 1883. It places the meal between square and Aldeia do Imigrante. The municipal listing describes a buffet with salads, hot dishes, meats and desserts and service Monday to Friday 11:30–14:30, extended to 15:00 at weekends. Check your date through the official contact.

Friday afternoon: history and a lakeside break at Aldeia

After lunch, visit Parque Aldeia do Imigrante at Avenida 15 de Novembro, 1966. The ten-hectare park includes native forest and reconstructed buildings representing German immigration. Visit for historical context alongside central gardens.

We suggest the afternoon for buildings and a lakeside break. The municipal listing gives daily 09:00–18:00 visits and directs you to the ticket operator. Check price and opening beforehand; this day’s food is already arranged at Plátano Grill rather than relying on unconfirmed internal services.

If budgeting requires one fewer admission, keep Praça das Flores and Labirinto Verde and allow more free time before Christmas activities. You save Aldeia’s ticket but give up the reconstructed historical buildings part of the itinerary.

An evening for Magia do Natal 2026

Allow an evening for Magia do Natal, confirmed for 6 November 2026–3 January 2027. The official page announces Friday-to-Sunday attractions at Rua Coberta and Praça das Flores without admission charges. It suits the end of day one, returning to the area already explored and adding Christmas activities.

The municipal calendar and event page were consulted on 27 October 2026. Details were still to be published, so no individual time, artist or show can be promised. Check the programme before choosing Friday, Saturday or Sunday and arrange food and return around your chosen activity.

For central accommodation, the evening reinforces the location’s usefulness. In Vila Olinda or the countryside, arrange the return ahead rather than discovering transport cost after the outing.

Saturday morning: stories sculpted at Pedras do Silêncio

Begin Saturday at Esculturas Parque Pedras do Silêncio, Rua Emílio Dinnebier Filho, Linha Brasil. Sculptures explore immigration, professions, customs and traditions in native-vegetation gardens. After Aldeia’s buildings, it offers a different way into this history through sculpted scenes and characters.

Published hours are daily 09:30–18:00. We suggest the morning visit, then Casa Sander for food and local production. Check admission before leaving and arrange both access routes with your transport provider: they are separate rural addresses without source-confirmed travel times.

If paying for only one rural experience, choose for the group’s interests. Pedras do Silêncio best suits sculpture and cultural narratives; Casa Sander combines a visit with food. Both are possible, not compulsory for a worthwhile Saturday.

Saturday afternoon: food and local production at Casa Sander

After the sculptures, continue to Casa Sander at Estrada Geral da Linha Nove Colônias, 4577. It advertises vineyard and orchard visits, juice and jam tasting and a prepared picnic using menu items. The stop connects the outing with countryside flavours, food and local production at one address.

Arrange a meal break beforehand, choosing among advertised sandwiches, snacks, boards or picnic, and add your preferred experience. Confirm conditions, prices and booking needs through the official contact. Harvesting depends on seasonal fruit and is not guaranteed for November; do not assume tasting is free either.

Advertised visits are Thursday to Sunday, 10:00–17:00, making Saturday suitable here. Use the establishment’s suggested routes to avoid unsuitable shortcuts and dirt-road sections. Arrange your return to the centre before beginning the day, especially for Christmas activities that evening.

Sunday at Colina Verde: lunch is part of the outing too

Keep Sunday morning relaxed before lunch. If going out, another Praça das Flores walk offers gardens without an extra ticket. Then we suggest Colina Verde at Rua Felippe Michaelsen, 160, Vila Olinda.

The restaurant presents German cuisine with Italian and Rio Grande do Sul influences, table service and a hillside location with panoramic views. Choose it when gastronomy matters to your trip rather than as a rushed stop. Confirm service, prices and any reservation needs for your Sunday.

The establishment lists access from BR-116, km 185,5, approximately 3 km from the centre. After lunch, continue to Ninho das Águias, but these are separate journeys: do not plan a walk between neighbouring attractions.

Sunday afternoon: the valley from Ninho das Águias

Allow the afternoon for Ninho das Águias if visibility is favourable. It offers regional and Caí Valley views and a launch ramp for free-flight sports. You can go for scenery without booking a flight: the plan is to enjoy the valley and end day three outdoors.

Municipal access guidance uses BR-116, km 181, and Avenida Ninho das Águias. Published hours are Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00 and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 10:00–20:00. The listing states on-site admission payment by Pix only; check price and payment shortly before visiting.

Arrange the return before ascending rather than leaving transport until late afternoon. If views are obscured, Experiência Edelbrau is this itinerary’s specific alternative. Decide before leaving to avoid paying transport and admission for a view you may not enjoy.

Scenery is the reason for an afternoon at Ninho das Águias; consider visibility before setting off.

In poor visibility: Edelbrau and Edelhaus lunch

If Sunday is unsuitable for views, replace Colina Verde and Ninho das Águias with Experiência Edelbrau and Edelhaus lunch. The self-guided visit at Avenida 15 de Novembro, 4024, presents brewing history and production through interactive resources. Adult options with and without tasting are available, and admission is charged.

Visit in the morning, then have lunch in the brewery restaurant. Edelhaus advertises burgers, risottos and plated meals without guaranteeing every item for your date. Published Sunday service is 11:30–16:30; Experiência Edelbrau lists daily 09:00–17:00 visiting.

To make the budget work too, treat this as a replacement and adjust bookings. If tasting alcohol, leave driving to someone else or hired transport. Families with children should check group conditions, since the source options verified were for adults.

Finalise transport, budget and packing for your chosen itinerary

State tourism lists BR-116 and RS-235 as access roads and the bus station at Avenida 15 de Novembro, 1577. If arriving by bus, confirm the journey with the operator and arrange outings outside the centre separately. Consulted evidence does not provide municipal transport frequency or fares for these outings by local bus.

In Viajandar’s calculator, enter destination, whole trip duration, people and style for an estimate in reais. It uses accommodation, meal and transport references with a 15% buffer; the result is not a quote. Compare with researched prices and add chosen admission and experiences to your total.

Then generate a packing checklist from duration, traveller profiles and expected weather. Review items for central walks, outdoor outings and Christmas evenings according to the forecast shortly before travel. Viajandar’s Nova Petrópolis page also provides municipal information and local-service links for further accommodation and food research.

  • Transport: compare complete journey costs, including returns, before choosing accommodation and rural experiences.
  • Admission: check Aldeia do Imigrante, Pedras do Silêncio, Casa Sander, Ninho das Águias and Edelbrau according to your final selection; do not automatically add all alternatives.
  • Food: research Plátano Grill, Casa Sander and Colina Verde conditions; if choosing Sunday’s alternative, replace the last meal with Edelhaus.
  • Duration: use the whole stay in the budget, including nights and expenses on arrival and departure days.

Which option suits you?

OptionA good fit if…What to consider
Accommodation in the centreAnyone wanting to walk between Praça das Flores, lunch, Aldeia do Imigrante and Christmas activities. It best suits this itinerary, but a central location does not establish lower rates. Compare the exact address and total stay cost.
Accommodation in Vila OlindaAnyone wanting Colina Verde who is willing to arrange transport for other visits.Being in the restaurant’s neighbourhood does not remove journeys to the centre, Christmas activities and rural attractions.
Rural accommodationAnyone who prefers more time in the countryside and already has transport planned.Dinner and Christmas outings need including in cost comparisons. Check each accommodation’s specific access.
Prioritise Aldeia do Imigrante and Pedras do SilêncioAnyone wanting to devote part of the budget to history and culture. They are different experiences: reconstructed buildings at Aldeia and stories in sculpture at Pedras do Silêncio. Check prices before deciding on both.
Choose between Ninho das Águias and Experiência EdelbrauAnyone preferring scenery or needing an alternative in poor visibility.Ninho relies on visibility for its main attraction. Edelbrau charges admission and has options with or without tasting; use it as a replacement rather than another expense.

Your itinerary, ready to save

Day 1 — Friday: centre and Christmas

Begin with Praça das Flores’s gardens and monuments and explore Labirinto Verde in the same outing. Lunch suggestion: Plátano Grill, Avenida Quinze de Novembro, 1883. In the afternoon visit Aldeia do Imigrante at number 1966, combining historic buildings with a lakeside break. Keep the evening for Magia do Natal at Rua Coberta and Praça das Flores according to your date’s published programme.

Prefer an alternative? To reduce admission costs, keep Praça das Flores, Labirinto Verde and Magia do Natal and remove Aldeia do Imigrante. The afternoon is freer, but you miss the reconstructed historical buildings.

Day 2 — Saturday: sculptures and countryside flavours

Visit Esculturas Parque Pedras do Silêncio in Linha Brasil in the morning; published hours start at 09:30. Continue to Casa Sander in Linha Nove Colônias with your meal break and desired experience arranged ahead. Casa Sander is open for visits until 17:00. Plan both access journeys and the return to your accommodation without assuming the places are neighbours.

Prefer an alternative? To concentrate rural spending on one experience, choose Casa Sander, arrange food and the visit beforehand and skip Pedras do Silêncio admission. Return to the centre for Magia do Natal if that evening’s programme interests you.

Day 3 — Sunday: Vila Olinda lunch and scenery

Keep the morning free of another admission; one suggestion is Praça das Flores before lunch at Colina Verde in Vila Olinda. In the afternoon, use organised transport to Ninho das Águias with the return agreed. Restaurant access and the viewpoint ascent are separate journeys. Enjoy Magia do Natal that evening if the programme merits another outing.

Prefer an alternative? In poor visibility, replace Colina Verde and Ninho das Águias with Experiência Edelbrau in the morning and Edelhaus lunch. Published Sunday visits end at 17:00 and restaurant service is 11:30–16:30.

Before you go

  • Choose three full days and budget separately for arrival, departure and all accommodation nights.
  • For Christmas activities, travel between 6 November 2026 and 3 January 2027 and check the official Friday-to-Sunday programme.
  • Compare the exact accommodation address with Praça das Flores and Rua Coberta; add planned rural transport to researched prices.
  • Check Aldeia do Imigrante and Pedras do Silêncio admission and opening before deciding on both.
  • Confirm Casa Sander’s experience and food, with advertised visits Thursday to Sunday, 10:00–17:00; do not rely on harvesting without confirmation.
  • Follow Casa Sander’s official access guidance and arrange returns for all outings outside the centre.
  • Confirm Colina Verde service and any reservation requirement for your chosen Sunday.
  • Before Ninho das Águias, check visibility, opening, admission price and the municipal information stating Pix-only payment.
  • If switching Sunday to Edelbrau and Edelhaus, adjust lunch and transport too rather than keeping two paid programmes.
  • Review hours shortly before travel: this article’s information was consulted on 27 October 2026.

Questions to help you decide

Where should I stay to avoid unnecessary journeys?

For this sequence, the centre is the most convenient base, bringing together Praça das Flores, Labirinto Verde, Plátano Grill, Aldeia do Imigrante and Magia do Natal venues. This can reduce journeys without meaning lower room rates. Compare accommodation and transport together.

Which attractions have confirmed free access?

Labirinto Verde has confirmed free access. The official page also announces no admission charge for Magia do Natal 2026–2027 attractions. Food, transport and private experiences need separate budgeting; Ninho das Águias charges admission.

When is Magia do Natal 2026?

From 6 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, with Friday-to-Sunday activities at Rua Coberta and Praça das Flores. When checked on 27 October 2026, the detailed programme was not yet published; check the official link before choosing an evening.

Can I follow the itinerary without a car?

The central part is arranged for walking between addresses. For Pedras do Silêncio, Casa Sander, Colina Verde and Ninho das Águias, arrange return transport before finalising visits. The sources consulted do not establish local bus times or ride-hailing availability.

Can I use days other than Friday to Sunday?

Yes, but rearrange Casa Sander, advertised Thursday to Sunday, 10:00–17:00. Magia do Natal activities are planned Friday to Sunday. Edelhaus lunch also needs calendar planning: the consulted page advertises Saturday and Sunday lunch opening.

What is the viewpoint alternative in poor visibility?

One suggestion is Experiência Edelbrau and Edelhaus lunch on Sunday, replacing Ninho das Águias and Colina Verde lunch. Replace the whole combination rather than accumulating bookings and journeys.

Do the three days include arrival and departure?

This itinerary uses three full days within Nova Petrópolis, excluding arrival and departure. It is a selection for exploring the municipality leisurely, not a full Serra Gaúcha programme.
