GETTING STARTED

Combine the historic city centre, Parque Arthur Thomas, Museu do Café, Jardim Botânico and Lago Igapó over three full days, with arrival and departure days counted separately. Between 30 October and 8 November 2026, add a free Kinoarte screening. The itinerary suggests meal stops, helps you choose an area to stay in and sets out alternatives for rain, Mondays and the 2 November public holiday.

Who it is for: Brazilian travellers who want to combine culture, parks and good meal stops over three full days, taking advantage of free admission and choosing accommodation to suit their sightseeing plans.

Three days of history, green spaces and cinema

You can put together three varied days in Londrina: start at the former railway station, walk through squares that tell the city's stories, move from woodland to the Museu do Café and finish beside Igapó. Savings come from free admission and well-planned journeys. The suggested restaurants are included for their location and what each offers, with no promise of a low bill.

This itinerary covers three full days of sightseeing within the city; arrival and departure days are not included. To include the 28th Kinoarte Film Festival, your trip needs to coincide with 30 October to 8 November 2026. One good option is to set aside 6, 7 and 8 November, from Friday to Sunday: you can arrange visits around the published opening days, catch the Saturday screening at 20:00 and leave lunch at Villa Fontana Aurora for Sunday.

You can change the order of the days to suit the weather and cinema programme. Schedule the Museu Histórico, Museu do Café and Parque Arthur Thomas for days between Tuesday and Sunday. The Jardim Botânico has one important difference: according to Sedest, it also opens on public holidays. This rule includes Monday 2 November 2026; just confirm whether there will be any changes to opening hours for that date. The idea is to explore this part of the city at a relaxed pace, without including the rural districts.

Choose where to stay with sightseeing and the journey back from the cinema in mind

If the museums and Kinoarte inspired your trip, start by looking for accommodation in Centro, the city centre. This is the area that best suits the two cultural days in this itinerary. Check each address in relation to the Museu Histórico, Sesc Cadeião and Cine Villa Rica: being in the same neighbourhood does not mean every trip there and back will be convenient on foot.

The Igapó and Gleba Palhano area makes more sense if you want to prioritise the lake outing and a meal at Aurora Shopping. In return, you will need to arrange journeys to Centro. Before booking, compare the cost of your stay alongside your expected transport costs, especially the journey back from the cinema. To find out where you will spend less, compare the options for your dates.

To get around, we suggest walking between the central stops when that works for your group and using transport for longer journeys. CMTU recommends MOV for checking bus routes, timetables and locations. Compare the total cost of fares and connections with a shared taxi or ride-hailing fare, avoiding trips back to the hotel between stops.

For arrivals at the airport, the operator lists bus route 108, Jardim Albatroz/Centro, with boarding in front of the arrivals exit. It is an option to compare with a taxi or ride-hailing service, taking luggage, timing and your accommodation's address into account. Check the current service before relying on this connection.

Day 1: start at the former railway station

Start at the Museu Histórico de Londrina, at Rua Benjamin Constant, 900. The building opened as a railway station in 1950 and has housed the museum run by UEL since 1986. It is a good starting point for understanding how the city developed before encountering references to the railway in the nearby squares.

The Londrina municipal government reports free admission and reopening after renovation. The published opening hours are Tuesday to Friday, 09:00–17:30; Saturday, 09:00–17:00; and Sunday, 13:00–17:00. If you come on Sunday, take the city-centre walk first and leave the museum until after lunch.

From there, head to Praça Rocha Pombo. According to Codel, it links the former railway and bus stations, associated with the Museu Histórico and Museu de Arte. Take note of this connection between the buildings before continuing to Praça Tomi Nakagawa. If you want to add a visit inside the Museu de Arte, check its opening arrangements first.

The former railway station is the starting point for learning how Londrina developed before walking through the central squares.

Squares, the Cathedral and an Italian meal in Centro

After Praça Rocha Pombo, head to Praça Tomi Nakagawa. Inaugurated in June 2008 to mark the centenary of Japanese immigration, it occupies part of the former railway yard. This sequence helps connect two strands of history present in Centro: the railway and immigration. Continue along the Calçadão da Avenida Paraná, the pedestrianised stretch where Praça Gabriel Martins and Praça Willie Davids are located.

Include the Cathedral, at Travessa Padre Eugênio Herter, 33, to take in its architecture. An outdoor stop fits naturally into the walk; to go inside, confirm access and respect any services taking place. The office hours published by the church are not tourist visiting hours.

For a meal break, we suggest Barolo Trattoria, at Rua Espírito Santo, 1450, also in Centro. The restaurant's website lists Italian cuisine, handmade pasta produced in its own pasta-making facility and vegetarian options. These features, together with its location, explain the choice after the walk. Check meal service times, the menu and prices before going.

Day 2: woodland and waterfall views from the Arthur Thomas lookout

On the second day, start at Parque Arthur Thomas, at Rua da Natureza, 155, in Jardim Piza. The Londrina municipal government describes free recreation and around 85 hectares of Atlantic Forest, with trails, a lake with a dam and a lookout over Cachoeira Beija-Flor. Walk along the routes open to visitors and include the lookout before taking transport to Centro.

The park closes on Mondays. Confirm the opening hours for your date and book in advance if you want a guided walk. To enjoy Cachoeira Beija-Flor, the stop on this itinerary is the lookout.

If you are in Londrina on Saturday 31 October 2026, there is an extra reason to spend more time in the park: Vem pro Parque! Uma aventura pelo mundo dos morcegos (Come to the Park! An Adventure into the World of Bats), from 10:00 to 17:00, with free participation. Bat-trunfo and an activity about coexisting with bats are scheduled at Espaço Ipê during this period, with no advance registration. Other activities require registration and have their own age and accompaniment rules. This is an educational programme, with no guarantee of seeing live bats.

In the afternoon, explore coffee through work and memory

Back in Centro, one suggestion for a meal is Villa Fontana Higienópolis, at Avenida Higienópolis, 479. The official website presents this branch in terms of its Italian tradition; it is different from the Aurora branch suggested for the third day. Confirm that it serves meals at your intended time before fitting it in between the park and museum.

Next, head to the Museu do Café at Sesc Cadeião, at Rua Sergipe, 52. The exhibition explores coffee through everyday life, work and memory. The visit complements the Museu Histórico by focusing on a specific subject, and also leaves you in Centro to continue to the cinema during Kinoarte.

According to Sesc, admission is free and opening hours are Tuesday to Friday, 09:00–21:00, and Saturdays and Sundays, 09:00–18:00. A guided visit must be requested and is subject to confirmation of availability. You can make a regular visit without this booking; food and drinks are not included in the free admission.

Kinoarte 2026: choose a screening to round off your outing

The 28th Kinoarte Film Festival takes place from 30 October to 8 November 2026, with all screenings free at Cine Villa Rica, at Rua Piauí, 211. The Londrina municipal government published the programme on 23 October 2026. For this itinerary, the festival adds Brazilian cinema to a day that already takes in cultural venues in Centro.

Choose a screening according to the date you will be in the city. In the example trip from 6 to 8 November, Saturday's film starts at 20:00 and fits in after the Museu do Café. Sunday's closing screening is another possibility: check the time so you can allow for the journey from the lake to Centro.

Check the admission instructions too: a free screening does not mean a guaranteed seat. The workshops at Sebrae require registration and have limited places, so they need separate planning. If your trip falls outside the festival dates, keep the museums and walks without relying on this programme.

  • 30 October 2026: Yellow Cake is the opening film; check the time before fitting the screening into your arrival day.
  • 2 November 2026, at 20:30: Feito Pipa is an option for rounding off the public holiday after outdoor sightseeing.
  • 7 November 2026, at 20:00: Se Eu Fosse Vivo… Vivia fits well after the Museu do Café.
  • 8 November 2026: A Fabulosa Máquina do Tempo is the closing film; check the time before planning when to leave Igapó.

Day 3: explore the Jardim Botânico's collections

Start the third day at the Jardim Botânico de Londrina, at Avenida dos Expedicionários, 1999, in Vivendas do Arvoredo. Use the plant collections to guide your walk: Arboreto Nativas do Paraná, Jardim das Barrigudas and Jardim das Coníferas. The official description mentions araucaria, sequoia and ginkgo among the plants there.

Sedest lists free admission and opening hours of Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays, 08:00–18:00. Under the published rule, the public holiday on 2 November 2026 is included, even though it falls on a Monday. As there is no notice specifically for this date in the material consulted, confirm opening hours before setting out. Plan your visit around the gardens and ask on site whether entry to the greenhouse is possible.

For travel by bus, the Londrina municipal government reported in 2025 that route 227, Jardim Botânico, provides the Terminal Acapulco/Jardim Botânico/Terminal Acapulco connection. Use MOV to look up the full journey from your accommodation, current timetables and the return trip, especially if you are travelling on the public holiday. After your visit, head to the Aurora Shopping area, avoiding a return to Centro between the garden and lake.

Set aside the morning for the gardens and their plant collections; the suggested visit takes place outdoors.

Lunch at Aurora and an afternoon along Igapó's shores

If this day falls on a Sunday, fit in lunch at Villa Fontana Aurora, at Avenida Ayrton Senna da Silva, 400, inside Aurora Shopping. The official website advertises Sunday lunch at this branch and describes its approach as contemporary. This choice helps combine the Jardim Botânico and Igapó without a meal stop in Centro in between. On another day of the week, including the 2 November public holiday, confirm lunch service before keeping this stop; menus may change with the season.

Then continue by transport to Lago Igapó and spend the afternoon along sections of the shores of Igapó I and II. Codel describes a complex of four lakes and an area of reclaimed land: do not think of all of this as a short circuit you have to complete. We suggest starting at Igapó I and leaving Igapó II as a continuation, depending on your group's pace.

The appeal here is taking time to enjoy the scenery after two days of museums and heritage. Decide how far to walk when you arrive, taking the route's condition into account. If you want to attend Kinoarte's closing screening on 8 November 2026, check the screening time to decide when to leave the lake and return to Centro.

After the Jardim Botânico and lunch, Igapó invites you to slow down amid water, trees and the city.

How to rearrange the itinerary for rain, Mondays or a public holiday

If rain is forecast, it is worth swapping whole days: save the Museu Histórico and Museu do Café for the wet weather and move Arthur Thomas, the Jardim Botânico and Igapó to a dry spell. The two museums can be visited in sequence in Centro between Tuesday and Sunday, with a meal at Barolo between visits after confirming service. On Sunday, visit the Museu do Café first and the Museu Histórico after 13:00.

If your stay includes a regular Monday, set aside Praça Rocha Pombo, Praça Tomi Nakagawa, the Calçadão da Avenida Paraná and an exterior view of the Cathedral for that day. Then take transport to Igapó. Leave the Museu Histórico, Museu do Café and Parque Arthur Thomas for other days; to keep all the visits at a relaxed pace, choose three days between Tuesday and Sunday whenever possible.

Monday 2 November 2026, however, is a public holiday. The Jardim Botânico's published hours include public holidays, from 08:00 to 18:00, so you can plan the Jardim Botânico in the morning, Igapó in the afternoon and Feito Pipa at Cine Villa Rica at 20:30. Confirm the garden's opening hours for that date beforehand, as well as lunch service if you want to stop at Villa Fontana Aurora.

If that Monday is rainy too, keep the evening screening of Feito Pipa and move the Jardim Botânico and Igapó to a dry day. Do not count on the Museu Histórico and Museu do Café as Monday substitutes: to visit both without squeezing the other outings, you will need to rearrange your stay or shorten the itinerary.

Turn the itinerary into a packed bag and a spending estimate

Once you have chosen the order of your visits, open Mala Inteligente and enter the trip duration, travellers and weather conditions matching the forecast close to your trip. Turn the days of walking and park visits into a checklist with comfortable footwear, a water bottle, sun protection and rain protection as the forecast requires. Include arrival and departure days in the duration you use for packing.

In Calculadora de Custos de Viagem, enter the destination, total duration, number of people and travel style to calculate an estimate. The tool provides an estimate in Brazilian reais for accommodation, food and transport, with a 15% margin. Compare these reference figures with the prices you actually find for your dates; the result is neither a quote nor confirmation of availability.

To decide where to save, start with what this itinerary already offers: museums and parks with free admission, free Kinoarte screenings during the festival and visits grouped to avoid backtracking. Then compare accommodation, meals and transport. A convenient address can save journeys, but the final choice depends on the full cost.

Which option suits you?

OptionA good fit if…What to consider
Accommodation in CentroThis suits travellers who want to focus on museums, a heritage walk and Kinoarte screenings. It favours cultural outings but requires planning transport to the Jardim Botânico, Parque Arthur Thomas and Lago Igapó. Check the exact address before booking.
Accommodation in the Igapó or Gleba Palhano areaThis suits travellers who prefer to give more time to the lake and a meal in the Aurora Shopping area.It suits the third day but adds journeys to museums and the cinema in Centro. The location does not establish that the nightly rate is lower.
Three sightseeing days on 6, 7 and 8 November 2026This suits travellers who can arrange their trip to enjoy museums, the festival and Sunday lunch at Aurora.Saturday has a confirmed screening at 20:00, and the festival closes on Sunday. Check the closing screening's time and admission arrangements.
Walking in Centro and taking buses for longer journeysThis suits travellers who want to compare costs without assuming they need to hire a car for the city itinerary.Check connections and return timetables in MOV; convenience depends on your accommodation and group.
Combining buses with taxis or ride-hailing servicesThis suits groups that can split fares or want fewer connections between parks, the restaurant and lake.Compare the fares you find during the trip with the total cost of bus tickets. No mode of transport will necessarily be the cheapest for every journey.

Your itinerary, ready to save

Day 1 — railway history, squares and Centro

Start at the Museu Histórico, at Rua Benjamin Constant, 900. Continue to Praça Rocha Pombo and Praça Tomi Nakagawa; then walk along the Calçadão da Avenida Paraná and stop by the Cathedral. Fit in a meal at Barolo Trattoria, at Rua Espírito Santo, 1450, after confirming service times. This sequence brings together heritage and food in Centro, without returning to the hotel between each stop.

Prefer an alternative? If your first day falls on a Sunday, visit Praça Rocha Pombo and Praça Tomi Nakagawa and take the walk through Centro before the Museu Histórico, which opens at 13:00. Keep the Cathedral as an outdoor stop if a service is taking place.

Day 2 — Parque Arthur Thomas, Museu do Café and cinema

Spend the morning at Parque Arthur Thomas, walking along the routes open to visitors and including the Cachoeira Beija-Flor lookout. Take transport to Centro; the Higienópolis branch of Villa Fontana is a meal suggestion, after confirming service at your preferred time. Visit the Museu do Café in the afternoon. Between 30 October and 8 November 2026, fit in a Kinoarte screening at Cine Villa Rica; on 7 November, Se Eu Fosse Vivo… Vivia starts at 20:00.

Prefer an alternative? If it rains, move Parque Arthur Thomas to a dry morning and combine the Museu Histórico and Museu do Café on the rainy day, between Tuesday and Sunday. If you are in the city on 31 October 2026, the Vem pro Parque event may take up more of your visit to Arthur Thomas.

Day 3 — Jardim Botânico, lunch and Lago Igapó

In the morning, explore the Arboreto Nativas do Paraná, Jardim das Barrigudas and Jardim das Coníferas at the Jardim Botânico. On Sundays, fit in the lunch advertised by Villa Fontana Aurora at Aurora Shopping. Continue by transport to Lago Igapó and walk along sections of the shores of Igapó I and II, without feeling obliged to cover the entire complex. On 8 November 2026, Kinoarte's closing screening can round off the day, after you check the time and plan the return to Centro.

Prefer an alternative? If it rains, visit the Museu do Café between Tuesday and Sunday and move the Jardim Botânico and Igapó to a dry day. If this day is Monday 2 November 2026, the Jardim Botânico's published rule includes public holidays, from 08:00 to 18:00; confirm opening hours for that date before setting out. Combine the garden with Igapó and Feito Pipa at 20:30. To have lunch at Villa Fontana Aurora on a day other than Sunday, confirm service.

Before you go

  • Allow three full days for sightseeing and add arrival, departure and the corresponding nights to your plans.
  • Schedule the Museu Histórico, Museu do Café and Parque Arthur Thomas for days between Tuesday and Sunday. On Sunday, the Museu Histórico opens at 13:00.
  • The Jardim Botânico lists opening hours of Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays, 08:00–18:00. For Monday 2 November 2026, the published rule indicates it will open because it is a public holiday; confirm whether there will be any specific change before setting out.
  • Before visiting Arthur Thomas, confirm opening hours and which routes are open to visitors. A guided walk requires advance booking.
  • Check the Kinoarte programme for your chosen date, the screening time and admission instructions. Free admission does not guarantee a seat.
  • Confirm meal service times at Barolo or Villa Fontana. The Aurora branch advertises Sunday lunch; check service for other days.
  • Use MOV to check routes from your accommodation, connections and the return journey, especially after the cinema and for the Jardim Botânico connection. On public holidays, check the service for that date.
  • Compare accommodation and transport using the total costs you find. Use the calculator as an illustrative estimate in Brazilian reais, without treating the result as a quote.
  • Check the forecast close to your trip and put together a checklist for walking, museums and parks in Mala Inteligente.

Questions to help you decide

Which attractions have free admission?

The Museu Histórico, Museu do Café, Jardim Botânico and Parque Arthur Thomas have free admission according to their operators or the Londrina municipal government. All Kinoarte festival screenings from 30 October to 8 November 2026 are also free. Food, accommodation and transport are separate costs.

Is it better to stay in Centro or near Lago Igapó?

For this itinerary, Centro is more convenient for the two days with museums and cinema. The Igapó or Gleba Palhano area better suits the day at the lake and Aurora Shopping. Compare the accommodation's address with all your journeys, including the return from the cinema; do not choose based only on the neighbourhood's name.

Do I need to hire a car?

You can combine walking and public transport, supplemented by taxi or ride-hailing trips when it makes sense. The airport operator lists route 108 for the connection to Centro, and the Londrina municipal government records route 227 between Terminal Acapulco and the Jardim Botânico. Confirm current routes and timetables in MOV.

How can I fit Kinoarte into the three days?

The festival takes place from 30 October to 8 November 2026 at Cine Villa Rica, at Rua Piauí, 211. One possible arrangement is to keep 6, 7 and 8 November free: Se Eu Fosse Vivo… Vivia screens on 7 November at 20:00, and A Fabulosa Máquina do Tempo closes the festival on 8 November. Check the closing screening's time before planning that Sunday.

What if one of my days is a Monday?

On a regular Monday, combine Praça Rocha Pombo, Praça Tomi Nakagawa, the Calçadão da Avenida Paraná, the Cathedral's exterior and Lago Igapó, using transport between Centro and the lake. Leave the Museu Histórico, Museu do Café and Parque Arthur Thomas for other days. The Jardim Botânico publishes opening hours of Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays, 08:00–18:00: this rule includes the public holiday on 2 November 2026, although there is no specific confirmation for that date in the material consulted. Confirm opening hours before setting out and, if the rule remains in effect, combine the Jardim Botânico in the morning, Igapó in the afternoon and Feito Pipa at Kinoarte at 20:30.

Do the three days include arrival and departure?

No. These are three full days of sightseeing. Add arrival and departure days according to your schedule, and include the necessary nights when comparing accommodation and estimating costs.
